Piled Underpinning

When existing foundation on a building are not too damaged and just require repositioning back to straight. We may recommend the use of piles to establish new foundation points on deeper, solid strata (for example, onto rock bed).  Piles are a preferred method by some because they have a relatively quick installation time, and are a secure and permanent solution to fix sections of sunken foundations.

Piles are driven into the ground under the edge of existing foundation where there has been sinking at spaced intervals. The spacing is calculated appropriate to your building's needs. Once in place, a hydraulic lift can be placed in between the top of the pile and your existing foundations to lift the foundation and the house or building on top to back to its original level. Once level the foundation is secured in place.

Helical Piles / Screw Piles

Helical Piles are solid poles with a screw tip. Machinery is brought into spin and push the screw in to the ground until it hits solid strata that can take the weight of the structure on top. Piles in the same area can vary in depth depending on the way the rock bed is shaped deep beneath the surface. Helical piles are less noisy than push piles to get into the ground but they are only suitable for certain types of buildings and foundation types. Helical piles are not typically used for multi-storey structures as push piles are more useful for very heavy buildings.
Whether you use us or another contractor for your helical pile solution, make sure they are using helical piles of very high structural quality and a round pole shape to make sure your piles will last the test of time.

Push Piles

Push piles are commonly recognized for their use in the foundations of large buildings and structures but are also useful in fixing building foundations. Push piles are driven deep into the ground using either the weight of the building or with force machinery until it reaches solid strata. Either way, the piles provide structural security for buildings. In remedial work once the piles are in place, the existing foundations can be lifted from the top of the piles and secured to lift the affected part of the house or building back into place.

The best foundation solution for you

Whenever we assess foundations and whether repairs are needed there are many considerations we take into account. We consider the type of soil under your building, the known configuration of the rockbed in the region, we inspect the area around the foundation for ongoing possible issues and consider, accessibility of the site for any machinery that may be required and the structural needs of the building itself.

Don't hesitate to get an experienced professional to assess your situation. Foundations are not something to risk. Every day could mean thousands of dollars more damage to your property. We know this so we offer free inspections. Call us now.
